SHP Ship information

The SHP notification provides general and technical information about a vessel calling at a Finnish port.

When a new vessel is added in NEMO during the creation of a port call and the vessel information is not available in the NEMO Ship Data Service, the system automatically creates draft SID and SHP notifications so that the vessel's identification and basic information can be provided before the NOA notification is submitted.

Please note:

  • Only a submitted notification updates vessel information stored in the NEMO Ship Data Service. A notification in draft status does not update the information.
  • If a new value for the same data element is submitted later, the most recently submitted value remains valid.
  • If a submitted notification is subsequently cancelled, the information already stored in the Ship Data Service is not automatically removed. Correct any incorrect information by submitting a new notification with the correct details.

Required fields

Provide the vessel's general and technical information as shown in the vessel's official documents.

Some fields are automatically populated using information available in the NEMO Ship Data Service. Verify the information and update it only if changes have occurred.

ICE class DE-009-03

Select the vessel's ice class according to the Finnish-Swedish ice class notation.

Ice classes apply to vessels intended to operate in ice-covered waters.

Available values:

  • FS1A – IA
  • FS1B – IB
  • FS1C – IC
  • FS1S – IA Super
  • FSII – II
  • FSIII – III
  • UKN – Unknown

This information is not the same as the vessel's officially confirmed Finnish ice class and does not by itself determine the amount of fairway dues.

Ship operational speed DE-010-22

Enter the vessel's service speed in knots.

Lessee name DE-007-16

Enter the name of the lessee if the vessel is operating under a lease agreement.

Either Lessee name DE-007-16 or Registered owner name DE-007-10 must be provided.

Registered owner name DE-007-10

Enter the name of the vessel's registered owner.

Inert gas system DE-009-17

Select Yes if the vessel is fitted with an inert gas system.

Build date DE-009-04

Enter the vessel's date of construction.

Keel laying date DE-009-05

Enter the vessel's keel laying date.

Main Engine

Provide information about the vessel's main engine in this section. If the vessel has more than one main engine, report each main engine as a separate entry.

Main engine power DE-010-06

Enter the main engine power in kilowatts.
